Kathy and Steve Bertrand became Central Hotel's resident innkeepers in June of 2006. They are both educators in the Union School District, as well. Steve teaches K-3 art, and Kathy, after 33 years as an English, speech, and drama teacher, is now a 7-12 Curriculum Specialist with the district.

Kathy is a lifelong resident of the New Haven area, and Steve is a native of Cape Girardeau. They both love the historic homes and small town charm of New Haven.

Mark and Ellen Zobrist are long-time New Haven residents, and both are employed by the Pepsi Cola Bottling Company of New Haven. They have two sons, Brad and David.

 Deeply interested in historic preservation, Mark and Ellen have restored numerous local buildings.  Downtown, the Walt Theater and Altheide store have also been restored by a family partnership. The Zobrist’s current project is restoring the old Gruebbel Store and opera house, located directly across from the hotel.
